As long ago as the Belle Époque (from the 1900s) equestrian competitions were being held under this great glass roof – driving competitions, trials of speed, show jumping and equestrian parades already filled the stands erected around the ring.
A century later horses still have their place at the Grand Palais and the Saut Hermès pays them homage every year with panache.
Although the Grand Palais had not hosted an equestrian event since 1957, the last four years have seen the return of horses and horsemanship to a prestigious venue right in the heart of Paris.
For this Grand Prix, CSI 5* show jumping competition organised by the Hermès fashion house, the greatest riders in the world and their horses will gather.
