News of Steve Guerdat (CHE), Olympic Champion and Samshield Ambassador:

Injured by a horse kick at the Bordeaux CSI last weekend, Steve Guerdat was given emergency treatment to be able to participate in the competition starting the next day. His injury was first considered as a simple hematoma but further investigation revealed it to be a fracture of the tibia.

With great courage Steve  faced the pain during the competition and finished in 9th position in the World Cup on Saturday evening.

The latest news from Steve is quite reassuring – ‘I just had some new medical tests and have high hopes. In fact, although this is a fracture of the tibia, there is nothing to be afraid of because the bone is still in place and so, the issue will heal naturally. The knee ligaments have been a bit stretched but the most troubling factor is still the hematoma. I’m suffering because it is still huge. We will repeat the treatment and I think it will get better…’

Samshield team and Steve’s fans wish him a speedy recovery and are looking forward to seeing him in good shape in new events!
